“If the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do?”- Psalm 11:3 God is the foundation and source of marriage and the family institution. Marriage is God’s idea. It was His own initiative. He has a perfect will over every aspect of our lives. How do we go about knowing God’s will? 1. We must have a right mindset. We must discard all those ideas and customs; trends and lifestyle that do not have basis in the Word of God. We must not decide on ways of doing things because they are in vogue and look reasonable. 2. Realise that He has the best for you. God has a plan for every one of His children — to give us a fulfilling future. (Jeremiah 29:11). Have the assurance that God’s intention is to give you a spouse that is most suited to you and your destiny. 3. Learn to seek His will in marriage for you. This must begin before you ask anyone out. God must provide the basis for your relationship. He must be the basis for your dating. Ask Him for His will in marriage for you. Ask Him to guide you and to connect you to the one He has prepared for you.
